Dawn Ward
Director of Children and Families
Dawn has always had a passion for supporting children and families, tackling poverty and discrimination and leading change and improvement across children’s services.
She qualified with a postgraduate master's in Social Work in 1994 and spent the early part of her career in local authority statutory children’s social work teams. The learning from these early years of practice has remained with her and supported her in management roles across local authority education and children’s services teams.
She has held senior management roles across three national third sector organisations within the children’s residential context. Dawn was an Assistant Director with Barnardo’s before joining Aberlour in 2021.
Passionate about supporting transformational change across children’s services, Dawn leads with values, supports families’ voices and works positively and collaboratively across the sector to bring improvement.
